General•What is Love?
-
An original poem by Mike Servis
To have an idea, a thought To know exists an immense universe A great machine is life. To know, this world and you Are but a small part of this machine A machine some call God To realize, all of life Is One, is God, is Love Love is all there is
My feelings tell me that love is similar to A Course in Miracles in a nutshell. "Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God."
Is that too simple?
-
I agree...life can be so complex, but it can also be very simple...love is all there is, but there are zillions of ways it can be expressed
-
I definitely resonate with ACIM.
I haven't gotten into it much, but everything I hear about it really resonates. -
Marianne Williamson and Wayne Dyer are both big on it. You probably resonate with them too
-
Yes, definitely
-
I'm also working with a woman named Dr. Jeanine Austin who is really into it...she has a lot of good stuff
-
I recommend checking out her YouTube channel...she has lots of good videos:

I just went there: "How not to caste your pearls before the swine" I like that :-) I subscribed to it for later. Thanks
-
Cool. What do you do for a living, Mike?

Dr. Jeanine is so sexy, and probably about the sweetest lady in the universe. She is worth watching no matter how you look at it. She is also brilliant and extremely caring and open minded from what I have seen.
Speaking of "pearls before swine", are any of you familiar with the comic strip by that name? one of my all time favorites. I'll see if i can find some good ones and post them in a new thread. -
-
Yeah, I seem to have seen that comic strip...post some if you find them...I remember it being pretty funny

Hi Chris and Justin, nice to meet you both. I happened to see a tweet a few weeks ago which prompted me to join (I'm Jenni420 on twitter). I'm not an avid poster, but occasionally have something to say lol...
-
cool, what do you do, Jen?
-
As for me, I spend about half my time running the LOVEolution, most of the rest of my time helping authors/speakers create and promote online courses, and I still do some web development work to pay the bills (although I'm trying to keep that to a minimum now)
-
Well, I work for an insurance agency doing their books... but that's not what my background is in. I was a computer info sys major (graduated in '93, probably a bit older than the rest of you ;-) and worked in proposal development for awhile in Atlanta...

You sound like someone that we will be able to learn a lot from about processing and getting applicable results from collections of data. And then how to take that data and create a plan and proposal from it's implementation!
I like you already! -
-
That sounds interesting Justin... what prompted you all to start this site? Anything specific, or just an aha! moment along the way, or? Just curious... Yes, Chris, I'm somewhat of a planner and implementer but also enjoy a bit of spontaneity in life...
-
I actually majored in info systems as well.
-
Yes, it basically started as an aha moment on January 2nd, 2008...I woke up with the idea to combine the word 'Love' with the number 2008...I drew out a sketch and then the idea blossomed into what we called The Year of Love
-
Do you work locally or nationally too? Sorry for all the questions, it's always sort of awkward getting to know someone at first...
-
Then, as 2008 ended we turned it into the LOVEolution
-
I work nationally...mostly through skype and email...
-
That's when the best ideas come, right when you wake up, as if they were placed there just for you to remember at that moment... So you were inspired then!
-
Aaah skype... I've had issues with it and Firefox together, you? I've been forced to use IE on a regular basis and let's just say I'm not terribly fond of it.
-
You're right...it was definitely inspiration...I can't take any credit for it :)
-
Something about the start of a new year... endings and new beginnings... my moment, if you will, was Jan 1 2005.

Actually thats exactly why you can take credit for it. Please do, we should all take credit for amazing things and appreciate the amazing things others do. I don't care if it came to you during an acid trip, while you were sitting on the "throne", or in a moment of divine inspiration.
You absolutely deserve credit for taking this divine inspiration and creating the opportunity for us to be here right now moving the world forward.
Thank you Justin and Aaron, and I am thanking you on behalf of the world, even though the majority of it that doesn't know what an amazing thing you have done for them yet. -
-
I haven't noticed any skype issues with firefox...I'm not a big fan of IE either...
-
I've been eating dinner - did I miss much?
-
Must just be me then lol... firefox won't even open when I have the latest skype loaded. Anyway... what a nice post Chris. I've only just arrived, but I'll extend a thank you as well because it really is a beautiful idea, having a place like this.
-
what happened in 2005 for you Jen?
-
Hey Mike, welcome back...you haven't missed much...it's a pretty small group tonight, but we're having a good time
-
btw, Jen, we tell the more of the story of the Year of Love and how this all began in our Love Activation program...we'll probably be sending out a free audio from it through the newsletter pretty soon
-
I went to bed that night and got very strong vibes for the first time ever... this went on for many weeks and truly was a new beginning for me. The rest of my life has been changed from that experience. I've experienced many things throughout my life which I consider "unusual" but this particular event started my life on a new course. A journey still very much in progress...
-
Okay... I was wondering but haven't ventured around too much here yet. I don't have a lot of free time so I usually just get online some in the evening...
-
that's called life Jen - you can't get it wrong and you'll never get it done. Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
-
Wow, that's really cool...have you written about it anywhere? Do you have a blog or a website?
-

Jen and Mike you should join the discussion in other threads since it is basically the four of us tonite haha
-
-
Hi Mike... yes, I've recently discovered (or come to the decision that) I'm never going to "get there" and in fact, there is really here anyway, perhaps at another frequency. And I am learning to enjoy the ride... not always easy, but I'm trying. Anyway, no I have no blog or website, just my head. I kept a journal for awhile but have not been so good at keeping up with it these past few years. Life gets in the way! But that's something I need to get back to doing.
-
You mean multitask?
-
ok...well if you ever feel like sharing some of your story, we'd be happy to post it on the LOVEolution blog...
-
"Life is what happens while we're busy making other plans" -- John Lennon
-
Well journalling, but okay! Justin, I'm not sure I'm comfortable doing that, but I don't mind talking about any of it. However that said, I guess posting here is really not much different than writing it out in another format, just don't like to be so formal and/or draw attention to myself.
And that's just why I love Lennon, so eloquently simple :-D -
ok, no problem...just thought I'd ask.
-
Hi Jen...I do a lot of journalling too and I love it. Nice to meet you =)
-
Hey Justin there's a often repeated line in the Course that says: "Projection makes perception" Ever think there might not be "a world" out there? Nothing but a projection of our thoughts?
-
Hello... nice to meet you too; is that your name "Divya" or is there something else you'd like to be called? I used to be so great at it but my attentions have been pulled elsewhere for several years... I really do need to get back into it because it's so great to look back on, and a great way to remember experiences!
-
Hi Divya, thanks for joining us...I'm sorry I can't stay on longer...I have to get off the computer.
Jen and Mike, it's been nice getting to know you...I hope to see you again on here...we are thinking about having a live chat every week at this time -
ya mean a live java room or something like?
-
Imho everything is relative to the observer, and in that way you might consider what's on the outside to be a dream... a creation of your own "mind"... and I think that everyone experiences his/her own "world" so to speak.
-
yes my name is Divya...Ya I completely agree
take care Justin -
Nice getting to know you too Justin
-
that's projection makes perception in a nutshell Jen
-
Yes Mike, that's exactly how I see things...as real as the world seems, we're really only experiencing it in our own consciousness as a brilliant projection or 'hologram'...
-
It's hard to think that way when someone cuts you off in an intersection though
-
Are you saying I have an amazing grasp of the obvious? hehe lol just kidding...
-
Even harder to look down from the cross at the guys that nailed you up and say: Forgive them father for they know not what they do.
-
I need to go too... been nice chatting with you all... good night & sweet dreams
-
ciao
-
Based on what I've witnessed here, Love is people getting to know each other and creating connections.

Question : What is Love?
"It depends. There are as many loves as there are people. Love is a hierarchy, from the lowest rung to the highest, from sex to superconsciousness. There are many many layers, many planes of love. It all depends on you. If you are existing on the lowest rung, you will have a totally different idea of love than the person who is existing on the highest rung. Adolf Hitler will have one idea of love, Gautam Buddha another; and they will be diametrically opposite, because they are at two extremes." ~ Osho

Oh, and there's actually a book of his compiled talks called "Sex to Superconsciousness". Highly recommended!

That's crazy. You know I was thinking about what strain of Love is being consumed by those in power.
I was thinking about "the Illuminati" (aka people who choose to join the dark side) and how twisted and perverted their expression and understanding of Love is.
Not that it is any less valid but just a little nutty...
