GeneralSILENCE

  • Just want to know people's perceptions for this word. What does SILENCE mean to you?

  • For me it means having a quiet mind...which has been pretty difficult for me lately unfortunately...but when I can manage to quiet my mind, it feels great!

  • I struggle with this on a daily basis. When the general maintenance of life inhabits your mind, it's often hard to focus on the act of just being. That's why I'm an advocate of minimalism and uncluttering of both your house and your mind. The less "things" you have to maintain, the more you are free to let your mind wander which allows for silence and also breeds creativity.

  • OMG Love Feng Shui. I always joke that if my mom told me about Feng Shui instead of saying, "clean your room" I would have gotten super excited to do it.

  • Ironically my mind is often most at peace when we are talking, so there is not technically silence and yet the "noise" in my mind is most silent. When I am able to make those connections that make me want to lean forward in my seat and I savor every moment and feel like these are the connections that life is worth living for --- that's what the word silence means to me.

  • Chris, great point. I also have to work things out in my head to be able to move past them and either talking them through or writing them down helps immensely with that process.
